Hi, I’m Melissa Gendreau, MS, LMHC, NCC.
I am an independently licensed mental health counselor in Iowa with over 16 years of experience supporting adolescents (age 13 and up), adults, and couples. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC) and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and informed by a Christian perspective. I focus on helping clients develop practical skills and clarity as they work toward meaningful change. I believe therapy should be collaborative and goal-oriented, and my goal is to help you build the tools you need so you can move forward with greater confidence and independence.
I work with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem and self-worth, marital and relationship issues, attachment, grief, and spiritual formation. While I am a Christian, I welcome clients from all backgrounds and belief systems. I believe effective therapy respects each person’s values and works within their unique worldview.
In addition to my clinical work, I offer clinical supervision and consultation to mental health professionals seeking to growtheir clinical skills and practice with integrity.
