I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Iowa, having worked in the field for almost 15 years. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I received my Master’s Degree in community counseling from the University of Nebraska—Omaha.
I work with adolescents (age 10 and up), teens, adults, families, and marriages to decrease distress and hopefully work myself out of a job. My view on therapy is that I don’t want to become a crutch or cause you to be dependent on me. You are capable of change and growth, which we will work towards, but I will also meet you exactly where you are on that journey.
My areas of therapy experience include anxiety and depression, self-esteem/self-worth issues, trauma, marital issues, attachment disorders, parent education, grief, and spiritual formation.
While I am a Christian, my clients come from all walks of life and beliefs. Everyone has their unique pasts and issues to overcome. A therapist’s role is to work within the client’s belief system. They are to utilize therapy best practices to help their clients progress and grow in the journey and goals the clients set forth.
Thank you!
